Tiny Homes That Fold Up Are Becoming More Popular

If you're into the "tiny house" way of life, there's a new form of the genre on the market that takes the concept to a new level. Imagine a tiny house that folds up kind of like origami - that you can easily transport anywhere you want to go.

Brette Haus is a startup company out of Latvia that specializes in these new tiny homes. They only started producing these ingenious foldable houses last December, but its innovative design and technology have already wowed both the general public and housing experts. The models come with plumbing and electrical wiring pre-installed and can be set up anywhere in three to four hours using a small crane. Because no permanent foundation is required, the unique home has a minimum impact on the land.

Brette Haus offers three versatile designs, with sizes varying between 65 and 165 square feet. It currently takes them about eight weeks to build a single foldable home, but they plan to cut that in half by enlarging their manufacturing space and increasing the production rate.
