David Blaine: Balloon Stunt Was Out Of His Control

Dozens of latex, helium-filled balloons lifted Blaine 25-thousand feet into the sky over northern Arizona Wednesday Sept 3rd, before he strapped on a parachute and skydived back to Earth. The event Blaine called Ascension was live streamed on YouTube.

The performer meant to only reach 18-thousand feet, but the balloons took him to over 23-thousand feet.

Blaine originally planned to do the stunt Monday, lifting off from New Jersey and floating over New York City. He moved it to Page, Arizona, a town of about 75-hundred people more than four hours north of Phoenix. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QwzvNAAqH3g
