Carrie Underwood is helping to set the record straight after a botched gender reveal at one of her concerts on her ongoing βDenim & Rhinestones Tour.β The award-winning country music powerhouse helped concertgoers with their gender reveal at a recent show, but it turns out, she didnβt get the right info.
Courtney Johns, an anchor and reporter for ABC4 Utah, shared details of the ruined gender reveal on TikTok, wondering whether Underwood can help βfixβ the gender reveal. Johns shared that concertgoers managed to sneak a sign into Underwoodβs concert, though signs werenβt supposed to be permitted. The sign, which referenced some of Underwoodβs biggest songs, read: βCarrie, help me announce my gender revealβ¦ All-American girl, or Cowboy Casanova.β
It happened during Underwoodβs βDenim & Rhinestones Tourβ stop in Salt Lake City, Utah, on November 17. ABC4 reported over the weekend that the soon-to-be mother, Sydni Ledbetter, didnβt realize until she was waiting in line to enter the venue that she wasnβt allowed to bring her sign. Still, Ledbetter decided that sheβdΒ come too far and βbroke the rules there a little bit,β managing to hide the sign and bring it into the put anyway. Underwood noticed the sign and delivered the news on stageβ¦ Ledbetter and her husband, Josh, were expecting a baby girl.
Or so she thought.
It turns out, however, that the nurse read the gender wrong. So, the results that Ledbetter brought to the concert in an envelope β and Underwood revealed on stage β were incorrect.
Underwood shared the update on Instagram, noting the silver lining that βboys are awesome!β The superstar mother of two sons β Isaiah and Jacob β shared a sweet message to the parents-to-be: βCongratulations to the family. Iβm glad I got to play a small role in the happy newsβ¦even if we took the hard way to get there! πβ
