Carrie Underwood is helping to set the record straight after a botched gender reveal at one of her concerts on her ongoing “Denim & Rhinestones Tour.” The award-winning country music powerhouse helped concertgoers with their gender reveal at a recent show, but it turns out, she didn’t get the right info.

Courtney Johns, an anchor and reporter for ABC4 Utah, shared details of the ruined gender reveal on TikTok, wondering whether Underwood can help “fix” the gender reveal. Johns shared that concertgoers managed to sneak a sign into Underwood’s concert, though signs weren’t supposed to be permitted. The sign, which referenced some of Underwood’s biggest songs, read: “Carrie, help me announce my gender reveal… All-American girl, or Cowboy Casanova.”

It happened during Underwood’s “Denim & Rhinestones Tour” stop in Salt Lake City, Utah, on November 17. ABC4 reported over the weekend that the soon-to-be mother, Sydni Ledbetter, didn’t realize until she was waiting in line to enter the venue that she wasn’t allowed to bring her sign. Still, Ledbetter decided that she’d come too far and ”broke the rules there a little bit,” managing to hide the sign and bring it into the put anyway. Underwood noticed the sign and delivered the news on stage… Ledbetter and her husband, Josh, were expecting a baby girl.

Or so she thought.

It turns out, however, that the nurse read the gender wrong. So, the results that Ledbetter brought to the concert in an envelope — and Underwood revealed on stage — were incorrect.

Underwood shared the update on Instagram, noting the silver lining that “boys are awesome!” The superstar mother of two sons — Isaiah and Jacob — shared a sweet message to the parents-to-be: “Congratulations to the family. I’m glad I got to play a small role in the happy news…even if we took the hard way to get there! 😂”
