Granger Smith shared the “REAL” reason he’s leaving tour life with his music after more than two decades. The country star, who announced earlier this year that he would leave music behind to pursue ministry instead, shared a 37-minute sermon on Twitter on Tuesday evening (August 22).

Smith introduced himself as a husband — to wife Amber Smith, since 2010 — and a father of four to London, turning 12 in October, Lincoln, 9, River, who died in a tragic drowning accident when he was 3 years old in 2019, and Maverick, who turned 2 on Sunday (August 20), the day Smith delivered the sermon.

“This is actually a monumental week for me in my career,” Smith said, heading into his final week as a touring musician, closing a chapter after 24 years. “I want to tell you this morning that I have no regrets about this. I have no second thoughts or doubts. It’s not even bittersweet… There’s no bitterness at all, only gratefulness for this journey…and I’m so thankful for all the years of doing this.”

Smith announced in an emotional video earlier this year that his summer headlining tour would be his final one as he shifts his focus from music to ministry. The Texas native and After MidNite host said at that time: “I am so encouraged and hopeful and excited and joyful about the next chapter, but to a large extent, I have no idea what it will look like. I just want to glorify God the best way that I can. I want to learn and grow and serve my local church and allow my pastors to quip and affirm those next steps. Lord willing, I want to be used to help people find their purpose.”
