Sara Evans, Pregnant Daughter Reveal Gender Predictions For Baby No. 1

Sara Evans shared a conversation about motherhood in “an extra special episode” of her podcast. The country icon hosted her daughter, Audrey Evans, who recently announced she’s pregnant with Baby No. 1.

Audrey, 20, and boyfriend John Headley made their announcement in April. The first-time mother said in a statement to PEOPLE at that time that “are beyond joyful and deeply grateful to God for this incredible blessing.” The baby is due in October, per her pregnancy announcement. Sara and Audrey spoke about the baby in the latest episode of Diving In Deep. During their conversation, the mother-daughter duo shared their gender predictions for Audrey’s first child. They both said they “think it’s a boy.”

“I think it’s a boy now. I want it to be a girl, but I think it’s a boy,” Audrey said. “And then, of course, if it is a boy, I’ll be so happy and I’ll be like, ‘I can’t even believe I ver wanted a girl!’”

Sara said “the mother-son relationship and the father-daughter relationship is so true. …there’s just something very special about it, but either way, the mother-daughter relationship is amazing, too.”

It wasn’t immediately clear as of publication time on Thursday (June 5) whether Audrey will welcome a boy or a girl. She shared her ideas for baby names with her mother on Diving In Deep; however, the names were censored from the podcast episode.

Sara, 54, gushed to PEOPLE that “words cannot express how excited and happy I am for Audrey and John! I am already so in love with my grandchild and can’t wait to meet the little angel! God is so amazing!” The grandmother-to-be is also a mother to daughter Olivia, 22, and son Avery, 25.
