TMSG: Officer Gives 6-Year-Old New Costume After Family Loses Home In Fire

A North Carolina RV recently went up in flames after the family left to take young 6-year-old Damon to school. After the fire took their home, Damon mentioned something that struck Captain Tim Griffin of the Henderson County Sheriff's Office.

Damon told Griffin that he hoped his Batman Halloween costume wasn't in the RV. That's when Griffin learned from Damon's grandmother that the costume was inside the RV. This inspired the deputy to make a trip to Walmart in search of the same costume for the boy.

Griffin later surprised Damon with the costume complete with a utility belt, cape, and mask. Griffin told WDRB, "I just told him that sheriff's deputies need all the Batmans, so that we can get out here helping fight crime." Damon was happy, he said Batman is his favorite super hero.

The sweet exchange was shared on Facebook by the Edneyville Fire and Rescue page.
