Why Blake Shelton Really Tapped Trace Adkins For 'Friends & Heroes Tour'

Blake Shelton is gearing up to hit the road with his 'Friends & Heroes Tour' kicking off Aug.18th for a 17-date run across America.

On this tour, Blake tapped not only his "friends" but also his "heroes," and in a recent interview with Cody Alan, Blake shared which category Trace Adkins falls into.

"I feel like you need to be humbled when you are out there on the road and you are going out and seeing all of these people, and it builds up your ego," laughs Blake. "I wanted someone to kind of level it off. So, I brought out Trace."

"Trace is very grouchy and mean and will yell at us and will probably treat us like we are smaller than him. I mean, we are… smaller than him," jokes the 6'5'' singer about his 6'6'' longtime pal.

In addition to Trace, Blake will be joined by special guests Lindsay Ell, Martina McBride, and Tracy Byrd.
