Singles know they’re being judged for their dating profiles and outfits, but they may not be aware that their home decor is also facing judgment. According to a new survey, women can be critical when they see where a man lives and some things in his home may even be a dealbreaker.
Redecor, a design simulation game, polled nearly 7-thousand women about their biggest turn-offs they see in guys’ homes. These are some of the things that can give woman the ick instantly:
- Put away the self-portraits, as 38% say having too many photos of yourself on display isn’t a good look.
- Gifts from an ex are even worse, 43% of women have a big issue with memorabilia or keepsakes from a former girlfriend still being shown off in the home.
- Bed frames are a must-have for fellas, as 43% of respondents say they won’t date a guy if his mattress is on the floor.
- Plants can be a beautiful addition to a home, but only if they’re lush and green, as 44% of women say dead plants are a dating ick.
- Keep those dirty towels hung up and dirty clothes in the hamper, 65% are repelled by seeing them all over the floor.
- Cleaning up after shaving is also essential to 65% of women who take a hard pass to whiskers and facial hair in the sink.
- Kitchen sinks should be on the clean up list, too, as 70% of women say a sink full of dirty dishes is a turn-off.
- Overall, 80% of respondents say a dirty kitchen gives them the ick and 81% feel a well-maintained bathroom is important.
- But what’s the biggest dealbreaker when it comes to mens’ homes? The smell, with 80% of women reporting that a funky smell would have them nope right out.
