The first trailer for the troubled film "Rust" is now out. The headlines have thus far dwarfed the film that spawned them, after the tragic death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and injury to director Joel Souza during production via a prop gun welded by Alec Baldwin.
So now that we're actually talking about the film itself, here's the storyline: Set in 1880s Kansas, orphan Lucas McCalister (Patrick Scott McDermott), accidentally kills a rancher and is sentenced to hang. In a twist of fate, his estranged grandfather, the notorious outlaw Harland Rust (Baldwin), breaks him out of jail and takes him on the run toward Mexico, attempting to stay ahead of U.S. Marshal Wood Helm (Josh Hopkins) and a ruthless bounty hunter named Preacher (Travis Fimmel).
The movie hits theaters May 2.
