Here’s a sad sign of the times we live in; over one in ten adults know more about famous celebrities than their own loved ones, according to a new study. A poll of 2,000 adults found some surprising gaps in what people know about their families. Only 29-percent know who their mom first dated, and even fewer know about their dad's early relationships. But 34-percent could correctly name Chelsy Davy as Prince Harry's first high-profile girlfriend.
The study found that 26-percent knew Wayne Rooney's first car was a Ford SportKa, but only 21-percent could say what their mom's first car was. Many people also don't know basic facts about themselves; for example, 40-percent don't know how they got their name, but 47-percent know how at least one of the Beckham kids got their names.
The research shows that people who have lost a parent often regret not asking more personal questions. About 30-percent wished they had asked about their grandparents, and 27-percent wanted to know more about their happiest memories. While 57-percent want to know more about their loved ones, 21-percent don't know what questions to ask to start those conversations.
