Life is hectic and most of us are regularly yawning through our afternoons at work, but one thing we always try to make time for is our friends. For women, that means girls’ nights out, and a new survey suggests they’re not just fun, they’re actually essential.
According to the survey of 2-thousand U.S. women, they need a girls night every 22 days to feel balanced.
- More than three-quarters (78%) say girls’ nights aren’t just a good time, they’re necessary to feel recharged.
- They give women a chance to reconnect with their besties and a lot of those gatherings typically include wine.
- For 88% of those polled, wine is the beverage of choice for the ultimate girls’ night - more than twice as much as any other beverage.
- Most start pouring the vino right away, with 85% opening a bottle within 16-minutes of the first guest arriving.
- Food is also essential for a good girls’ night, with some preferring classic charcuterie (31%), while others go for sliders, wings, and chips with guac, or sweet treats (11%).
- Girls’ nights are so important, 62% would choose one over a romantic dinner with a partner.
- It turns out, it’s not the wine or the activity they enjoy most, it’s the conversation, as 83% prefer unstructured talk over any planned entertainment.
- They like giving juicy updates on their own lives (19%), relationships (15%), and catching up on friends’ families (13%).
- While they sometimes just talk all night, girls’ night activities often also include watching movies (66%), dancing, or cooking together (45%).
