Morning 'Shagging' Boosts Productivity & Confidence At Work

Stuck in a cycle of hitting snooze every day when your alarm goes off? You may want to give it up and get frisky instead. A new study suggests that morning sex may be the productivity hack that actually pays off.

ZipHealth polled 1,000 full-time American workers and found that those who get it on before going to the office report higher productivity, motivation and focus than those who don’t.

  • More than two-thirds say they feel more productive at work (71%) and complete more tasks (70%) after morning sex.
  • Over half of respondents also report feeling happier and more confident afterwards.
  • Nearly one in five fans of a morning shag say they’ve gotten a promotion in the last year and 51% have gotten a raise.
  • About a third of those surveyed say their healthy sex life directly boosted their income or career advancement.
  • Morning sex may even boost mood better than a caffeine fix, as 35% say it gives them a better start to their day than their first cup of coffee.
  • But there is one small downside to doing it early, a quarter say they’ve been late to work post-romp.
  • Older Americans lead the pack in morning intimacy, as Gen X and boomers are most likely to do it, followed closely by millennials.
  • And the boosts go beyond the employment perks, morning sex is linked with better mental health overall.
  • Those who engage in it report higher emotional stability, stronger confidence and better stress management than those who prefer to save it for after dark.
  • Experts point out that sex triggers the release of endorphins that calm nerves, boost mood and tend to make dealing with your inbox slightly less soul-sucking.⠀
