Holiday shoppers get some extra breathing room this year with Amazon expanding the return window to January 31st of 2026 on most items bought from now until the end of the year.
There are some fine print twists though, like Apple products needing to go back by January 15th, and certain things being non-returnable unless they show up damaged, including perishables, customized items, pharmacy products, and “final sale” goods.
Amazon isn’t alone either: Best Buy, Macy’s, Target, and Walmart are all rolling out extended holiday return windows, with most stretching into mid-to-late January. So if you’re a chronic gift second-guesser, you’ll have a bit longer to make that final decision.
