Many of us are still waiting to get our “vacation of a lifetime,” but a lot of lucky folks have already taken a few. While they used to be considered something everyone got to do just once, a new survey finds that the average American has enjoyed three “vacations of a lifetime.”
According to the poll of two thousand adults across the country, people are finding new ways to make travel a priority, and 37% believe bucket list trips are more achievable now than 10 years ago.
- More than half (57%) of Americans are now signed up for a loyalty program, and 26% of them say points have helped them get experiences they wouldn’t have otherwise.
- For 36% of millennials, exceptional food and drink options are the top criteria for a trip of a lifetime.
- A quarter of Gen Z considers a trip a “once-in-a-lifetime” experience if it lets them do activities they can’t do at home.
- More than a third (37%) of respondents are currently planning a big vacation, with 32% prioritizing beach and relaxation trips overseas, while 14% opt for shorter getaways.
- When it comes to booking a dream vacation, 14% would do it to mark a milestone birthday, and 17% would plan trips around special family events.
