Back in 1994, the original “Dumb and Dumber” movie was a box office smash, grossing over $247-million, even though it only cost $17-million to make. Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels ended up being a classic on-screen comedy duo. But ... It almost didn’t happen. During a recent interview, Nicolas Cage revealed that Carrey originally wanted him to co-star in the movie. He ended up turning down “Dumb and Dumber” to work on “Leaving Las Vegas,” which wasn’t a box office smash – but it did win Cage an Oscar. Not sure how much it matters, but people still rewatch “Dumb and Dumber” today. It’s kind of a cult classic. Not too many people are gathering around the TV to watch “Leaving Las Vegas” over and over.
