Zack and Jim’s Waco 100 pet of the week is Lady!

Meet Lady, and she is a perfect lady! Lady is a delightful, mid-size, beauty who hasn’t lived the easiest of lives. This lovely pup has been used for breeding purposes, having multiple litters, only to be dumped at the shelter by her former owners.

Despite her bleak circumstances, Lady is a cheerful girl. She adores people and she hopes to find a home with a new family who will give her loads of attention-she’s especially partial to head scratches and belly rubs. In return, she promises to give her adopter her complete devotion.

In her spare time, Lady enjoys spending time outdoors. She likes to frolick in the play yard, identifying scents, and chasing the breeze. Inside, she wants to curl up on the sofa with her new favorite person, learning how to become a complete couch potato.

Finding a home shouldn’t be too difficult. Lady gets along with everyone. She even does well with other dogs, after a slow introduction. So how about considering adding Lady to your family?

Lady is a 4-year-old, female, Catahoula/lab/border collie mix. She’s been at the shelter since 7/31/18 and she is number one on the urgent list. Lady’s adoption fee has been sponsored, and she is free to adopt to an approved adopter.

Have plans for this weekend?  How about attending The Heart of Texas Wine and Food Festival? Winefest is the major fundraiser for the Humane Society of Central Texas. Proceeds are used for HSCT to continue their life-saving programs and day to day shelter operations.

Patrons will get to taste more than 200 wines and sample food from 30+ restaurants. Event activities include live entertainment; V.I.P. “Top Dog” area on the scenic Waco Suspension Bridge which offers an exclusive preview event; A sports area that serves beer; a BBQ cook-off and broadcasting the day’s sporting events on 3 big screen TV’s. Also planned, a Red Carpet Dog Walk, featuring adoptable shelter dogs; a large silent auction; and the famous Cork Pull.

Make plans to attend this worthy cause. This year’s event will be held on Saturday, October 13, from 6-10 at Indian Spring Park in Waco.
