Zack and Jim’s Waco 100’s Pet of the Week is Canelo
If you are searching for a smaller dog, then the perfect pup is waiting for you at the Waco Shelter!
Canelo is a super adorable, pint-sized boy. He was surrendered to the shelter when his owner could no longer care for him, so he is used to living life in a home.
When Canelo entered the shelter, he was very scared and overwhelmed, but he has REALLY blossomed. He is extremely lovable, but it may take him a moment to loosen up when he’s introduced to new people. The shelter environment still makes him extremely nervous, because Canelo has yet to find kennel life comfortable.
Canelo needs a family that understands he may be fearful of new situations/people at first but given time, he will grow into a spunky, lovable companion, andthen it’s easy to see what a wonderful boy he is.
Canelo is an exceptionally sweet, gentle, and kind dog. He also has a playful side. He’s quite spry when he’s involved in a riveting romp around the playpen.
In his previous home, Canelo lived with another male dog. He has done well with the friendly, shelterdogs he’s met. He’s learning commands, and he’s working on his leash walking skills. He learns quickly, and reassurance from his person definitely helps build his confidence. He also seems to be house-trained. It doesn’t get better than that!
Canelo wants you to know he is a 3-year-old, neutered male, chihuahua/terroir mix. He weighs about 30 pounds. He’s been at the shelter since January 25th, and he’s currently 3rdon the urgent list.
Canelo is ready to be your devoted pal. He just needs you to come meet him.
