The island of St. Vincent and the Grenadines in the Caribbean is on red alert as the La Soufriere volcano is showing signs of an imminent eruption.
The island of St. Vincent's emergency management organization said there is "substantial prospect of disaster" and evacuations have been ordered.
The evacuations cover roughly a dozen districts and impact about six-to-seven-thousand people. The volcano hasn't erupted since 1979. Other countries have already reached out to offer assistance – as are a number of cruise lines - when it comes to getting residents off the island.
