When it comes down to hand-to-paw or hand-to-claw combat, with no weapons allowed, what animal could you take in a fight? That’s the question asked to 1,224 Americans were asked, when given 32 different animals to do battle against. When we say, “no weapons,” though…we mean it. Not even a stick or flyswatter…just you, your might, your brawn, and your wits. Here’s how the percentages weighed out.
- Rat –72% said it would be no problem to take one down.
- House Cat –69%
- Goose –61%
- Medium-Sized Dog –49%
- Eagle –30%
- Large Dog –23%
- Chimpanzee –17%
- King Cobra –15%
- Kangaroo –14%
- Wolf –12%
- Crocodile –9%
- Gorilla/Elephant/Lion –8%
- Grizzly Bear –6%
Talking withRon Magillof Zoo Miami, he says if he were asked to bet on the croc, gorilla, elephant, lion, and/or grizzly bear versus an unarmed human, he’d bet against the human every single time. In fact, those less-than-ten-percent who say they’d win against those beasts would be dead meat, no question.
