The U.S. News & World Report's Best Diets For 2022

It’s safe to say that a lot of Americans made a New Year's resolution to lose weight in 2022, which means a lot of people are probably trying to figure out the best way to do it.

Well "U.S. News & World Report" is here to help, releasing the results of their 2022 Best Diets list, with health experts ranking 40 diets in categories like Best Overall Diet, Best Weight Loss Diet and more.

Here are the results:

  • The Mediterranean Diet, which puts an emphasis on fruits and vegetables, olive oil, fish and other healthy fare, was named the Best Overall Diet for a fifth year in a row.
  • The Mediterranean Diet, which research suggests can ward off chronic diseases and improve longevity, is also tops in five other categories - Best Diets for Healthy Eating, Easiest Diets to Follow, Best Diets for Diabetes, Best Plant-Based Diets and Best Heart-Healthy Diets (tied for No. 1).
  • Weight Watchers, or WW as they are known now, lands in the Top Five for Best Overall Diet, and once again tops the list for Best Weight Loss Diet (tied with the Flexitarian Diet and Volumetrics Diet) and Best Diet Programs (formerly Best Commercial Diet) (tied with the Mayo Clinic Diet).
