A couple from Medford, Wisconsin say they had no choice but to kill a bear that broke into their house and attacked them inside their home. The couple said they saw the bear eating from a bird feeder and yelled at it to go away; instead, they say it charged at them, breaking through a window into their home.
Both the husband and the wife were injured before stabbing the bear with a kitchen knife; the man was finally able to get to a firearm and kill the bear. The couple’s children slept through the attack in their bedrooms; the parents were treated for multiple bites and injuries and released.
